Recently the proportion of natural gas extraction with high sulfur content is increasing year by year in our country.However, In the processing of sour natural gas the energy consumption of Natural gas purification device is relatively large, and natural gas development cost is relatively high. How to determine the optimal operation parameters of natural gas purification device through optimization methods to reduce the operation cost and energy consumption in the processing of natural gas to improve the oil enterprise’s economic efficiency and market competitiveness, which has become the problem of Petroleum Enterprise being solved urgently.This thesis based on the analysis and field studies takes the desulfurization unit of natural gas purification plant as research object, and study the optimization of the performance parameters, then making software of operation optimization of desulfurization unit. To the large energy consumption in the natural gas purification process, this thesis put forward the solution of energy optimization. In this paper, the energy consumption of desulfurization unit is considered as the target of optimization, the main operating parameters as decision variables, and optimization model of energy utilization of natural gas desulfurization device was established. The model was solved by the genetic algorithm, based on it the thesis created parameters optimization software of desulfurization unit in purification plant. By using this optimization software, the gas purification device operating parameters were optimized ’in Sichuan and Chongqing area. The energy consumption combined the main parameters was to determine the optimal operating parameters. The test results show that in the premise of ensuring product quality of the gas purification the energy consumption of purification device was reduced through parameter optimization, and the economic benefits had increased significantly.
