On the one hand, modern mining safety accidents occur frequently in China, which lead to miners’ safety is threatened, on the other hand, because the operation of mine devices are random, the efficiency of miner is low. What’s more, the update and application of mining equipment is slow. Since mine mobile equipment localization technology is one of the critical and crucial technical problems, so the miner localization system is the key to enrich and improve the supervision &monitoring methods, and is one of the main means to ensure the miners’ safety.Firstly, we combine the special mine condition in the tunnel and the operation area: the miner over-path distraction, electromagnetism distraction, narrow and long tunnel, high speed and irregular of the miner movement and so on. Compared with the usual localization technology such as Wi-Fi, RFID, GPS, ZIGBEE, and then, count with the current stat, characteristic and apply area, especially after analyzing the economy, reliability, applicability and localization accuracy, we propose ZigBee localization technology for the localization of high speed miner movement in underground mine condition.Secondly, we analyze the factor of miner localization error in tunnel condition, and then we set the mine tunnel and operation area as typical condition, propose the improvement measure, according to the measurement, This paper designs hardware and software application for the nodes in the ZigBee network, builds the overall structure of the miner location system and constructs the ZigBee wireless network based on ZStack 2006.Lastly, we analysis and research the impact on localization of wireless network structure, radio irregularity algorithm on the basis of the existing localization technology. Especially, we research the Centroid algorithm, APIT algorithm, MCL algorithm and RSSI-based MCL algorithm. The paper focus on these four localization algorithms, thinking about the radio irregularity, seed density, node density, the movement speed of seed and the size of samples. And then, we illustrate the performance of algorithms and the application situation, proposing the localization solution to the high speed of miner. After testing and simulation in mcl-simulator and Matlab, The results indicate that The Monte-Carlo localization algorithm can solve problems of accurately location of complex terrain, terrible communication environment and so on. The localization algorithm based on ZigBee is capable of achieving the effective mobile underground miner location.
