| In the process of magnetic separating, the magnetic particles easily form magnetic coagulation, which involves the poor locked particles easily in magnetic concentrate. And because of mechanical friction force among particles, the poor locked and gangue are hard to be separated from concentrate. Some improved drum magnetic separator and magnetic separation column can limitly solve the problem to some extent.The general drum magnetic separator and gravity-magnetic separator(magnetic dewatering tank) are widely used because they can directly discard the eligible tailings. But they can’t give a satisfied upgrading performance for not annihilating magnetic and nonmagnetic inclusions, that makes concentrate bear the poor locked and clean gangue particles. Thus development of new type magnetic separator which has particular field characteristic and effective de-aggregating unit is essential.A new type of weak permanent magnetic separator-vertical permanent magnetic separator has been developed. The main units include revolving magnetic system, revolving barrel, annular separation column, magnetic de-aggregation device, upflowing device, overflow apex, concentrate groove, middling groove, frame, transmission system and electrical control system.Vertical permanent magnetic separator combines working principles of drum magnetic separator, magnetic dewatering tank and centrifugal concentrator. It can be used for cleaning of strong magnetic minerals by fleetly revolving magnetic field, upflowing water, de-aggregating screen and centrifugal force. When dealing partly or fully liberated feed, vertical permanent magnetic separator captures clean magnetite grains and locked grains by fleetly revolving magnetic field, discards gangue by upflowing water, destroys the aggregate by de-aggregating screen. Because of the differences of their gravity and magnetic force, clean magnetite grains and locked grains are centrifugaly separated. Vertical permanent magnetic separator can give eligible tailings, high grade concentrate and middlings for recleaning.In the cleaning separator, a feed from Nanfen mill,68.29%-0.074mm and grade 62.06% is processed and gives following performances:concentrate grade 66.63% with recovery 51.55%, middling grade 60.40%, tailing grade 32.3% with recovery 2.85%,that contains mostly the poor locked grains and gangue.The development of vertical permanent magnetic separator is conducted in this paper and its separation mechanism is discussed and a good separating performance can be achieved in it. It gives a new basis for the separating of magnetite, and developing of large scale and permanent magnetic separators. |
