With increasing demand for the environment, electrostatic precipitators have a wide range of applications in power plants importantly. How to improve dust collecting efficiency economically and effectively and reduce dust emission quantity are becoming focused on by the operates. According the experience, the key factors affecting the efficiency of electrostatic precipitator is uniformity of internal gas flow distribution, Adjustment of air flow distribution in the past is done by model test, But this method is labor intensive, time-consuming and costly. With the development of numerical techniques, numerical simulation has become a powerful research tool.This paper takes the technique way of simulating model-simulating ante type, takes the electrostatic precipitator with 225 m2 electric field area of a certain plant in Hebei province as ante type, bases on principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics and takes FLUENT as platform in order to explore suitable methods and rules for numerical simulation of flow field in electrostatic precipitator, and analyze the effects of the air flow distribution board different installations.After carrying out a detailed mapping and data collecting of every part of the electrostatic precipitator, this paper built up a three-dimensional prototype model and made the transformation of the flow passage accordingly. Then the GAMBIT was used to divide the grids for all the models. After the mesh files are imported to the Fluent and the determination of the boundary conditions and computing areas, the Fluent was used to carry on the calculation of the numerical simulation. The operating performance of the prototype model as well as the model after transformation was thusly possessed. After setting different inlet conditions for several simulations, can obtain the flow field of air distribution under different locations and numbers of the air flow distribution board, by compare the static pressure and total pressure and flow properties, to get a reasonable layout plan of air distribution device. Finally, reconstruction of tilt angle of dust collector of imported tobacco box, and analysis the feasibility by simulating calculation.
