The spindle is one of the key parts of a machine which determines the processing precision and efficiency, how to improve the main performance is the goal of the machine tool industry, thus it is very important to research on the spindle test for improving the performance of a machine. In this study, the HTM-TC series NC/spindle turning centers (Ningbo Haitian Precision) were used as the research object, we built a platform spindle performance test and programmed the test software system based on Lab VIEW virtual instrument development platform to investigate the spindle static and dynamic characteristics.This thesis obtains the following results through the research work on the static and dynamic characteristics of spindle test system:1. Based on the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle and test method, determine the test experiments used the HTM-TC series NC/spindle turning centers (Ningbo Haitian Precision) as the research object.2. According to the performance requirements of the research object and test method to determine the sensor, data acquisition boards, and test methods.3. Based on Lab VIEW virtual instrument development platform, programmed the test software system to investigate the spindle static and dynamic characteristics.4. Design and manufacture of the spindle performance experimental test platform.5. Based on completion of the spindle test platform and test software system, in site tests on the spindle rotation accuracy, temperature and vibration was carried out. We analyzed and handled the collected data, drew the motion error map and trajectory map of spindle rotation axis, the spindle temperature rise curve and the spindle radial vibration curve, by which the experiments were evaluated.
