| Nowadays, the braided composite laminates are widely used in aero space engineering design because of its excellent functions, the safety and reliability of the connecting joint has become the key to the practice structural designing of composite materials. The composite material connections mainly include: adhesive connection, mechanical connection and the two mixed connection. This paper is based on the tests, mainly analysis single lap joint functions in glue joint connection and extrusion properties of single screw double shear connection in mechanical connection. This paper is based on the test methods and analysis the influence of different bondline thickness on the strength of single lap adhesive. The results showed that the specimens have many failure models, under the same failure model, single lap adhesive strength decreased with the increase of the bondline thickness. The observation indicates that different cutting indentation depth of specimens are the main factors of failure models, numerical simulation is also confirmed this point. And in the range of the experiment, the deviation of pure shear theory is discussed. This paper explores how different ratio of layers affect the single screw double shear extrusion strength of plain weave composite based on the tests. The results showed that: in the range of the experiment, the specimen’s failure stress nonlinearly increased with the increasing proportion of0?45 layer; the single screw double shear extrusion tests is the layer by layer failure process. In the course of the experiment, it appears initial damage, and with the increasing proportion of0?45 layer, layer by layer failure characteristics will become less distinct. This paper based on the twodimensional Hashin failure criterion, simulating the single screw double shear extrusion tests of plain woven composites by ABAQUS, identifying the initial failure layer and failure location. The simulation results showed that under the same extrusion displacement, the location closer to the laminated internal failure occurs more easily, and the first failure location is around the hole0? ?0.This paper analysis the radial stress distribution numerical simulation results around the hole of the plain woven composite laminates with single screw double shear extrusion tests, hypothesis the failure zone around the hole, and apply the upper bound theory to the connection strength calculation, based on two-dimensional Hashin failure criterion, explores a effective prediction method for extrusion strength of single screw double shear of plain woven composite laminates. |
