| Some objective factors lead to the GGH setting in early flue gas desulfurization system (FGD). The FGD system of Phase I of a certain power plant, since its launch, has been unable to enter the normal state, one of the common cause is the GGH congestion which can increase system resistance, and make the blower fan operate overloaded. Bypass operation has to be long-term opened to prevent the emergence of booster fan surge, stall thus the security, economic and environmental benefits of the system can be affected. Aiming at the problems above, based on the actual situations in other power plants of the same kind, research group organized many tests in various working conditions, including flue flow field test, droplet content test at demister outlet, demister performance analysis, GGH fouling composition test and analysis, GGH sootblower blowing effect test, the mist eliminator import smoke flow field analysis and optimization, the GGH version and performance analysis, GGH fouling chemical cleaning experiment and so on. Also the research group invited relevant experts in Xi’an Thermal Institute, Guangdong Electric Institute, Hebei Electric Institute, North China Electric Power University, Southeast University, and relevant experts in Howden Hua China, Howden company and ALSTON GGH manufacturers. These experts conducted in-depth discussion and analysis for many times, gradually mastered the fundamental reason of GGH jams and proposed the corresponding solution, also some practice were made and good effect was achieved.
