| With the demand and cconsumption of muscovite increaseing constantly, the requirement for mineral quality is getting higher and higher, and the existing processing craft of muscovite in concentrator plants is gradually can not meet the maket standards of product quality. As kaolinite is present more or less at muscovite mine, study on flotation separation of muscovite and kaolinite and seek a effective way to improve the product quality of muscovite has a certain theoretical and practical significance. The influence of diffentent collector on the flotation behavior of muscovite and kaolinite were studied in this paper. Through changing test conditions, find out their flotability differences and determine the optimal conditions which can efficiently separate the muscovite and kaolinite. And then the feasibility of flotation separation in this condition was validated by artificial mixed minerals and real ore separation test. The adsorption manner and acting mechanisms between collectors and the surface on muscovite and kaolinite were research by zeta potential measurement, infrared spectrum analysis and adsorption quantity test. The main conclusions of the research are as follows:1) Three flotation conditions which can separate the muscovite and kaolinite was found out by the single mineral flotation test:①15×10-5mol·L-1~1×10-4mol·L-1 myristyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(1431) as collector and adjust the pH=4-5;② 1×10-4mol· L-1 dodecylamine acetate(DDA) as collector and adjust the pH=3, add 80-160mg/Lsodium silicate as modifying agent;③ 2×10-5mol/L~8× 10-5mol/LDDA-sodium oleate mixed solution as collector, adjust the pH=4-5.2) The results of artificial mixed minerals separation test was consistent with the single mineral flotation test, muscovite and kaolinite can be separeted efficiently under both the three flotation conditions, and the best result was achieved when 1431 was added as collector.3) The flotation separation experimental study on graphite mine tailings of Luobei country showed that after adopted a 1 rough 4 times selection opened-circuit, the content of sericite was promoted to 93.18% from 81.35%.4) Infrared spectrum analysis showed that DDA and 1431 were adsorbed on the surface on muscovite and kaolinite only by physical adsorption rather than chemical adsorption.5) Zeta potential measurement and crystal structure analysis demonstrated that the zeta-potential of muscovite and kaolinite are all shifted toward positive after adding 1431 and DDA, and the positive displacement of muscovite is significantly greater than kaolinite. It can indicate that the two cationic collectors were adsorbed onto the negatively charged muscovite and kaolinite surface by electrostatic force, and the electrostatic force between muscovite and collectors is stronger than kaolinite.6) The results of adsorption quantity test showed that the adsorption quantity of muscovite had been reached a higher level but the adsorption quantity of kaolinite was few in a low concentration range of 1431, and the difference of adsorption quantity between muscovite and kaolinite can reach the maximum at 5 X 10-5mol/L~1× 10-4mol/L of 1431 dosage, in accordance with results of the single mineral flotation test. |
