Air-covering yarn machine is a preparing device which clads the different physicalproperties of fibers into elastic yarn. It exists the phenomenon that uneven tension of the yarnand unable to get the length of the yarn bobbins accurately in the process of yarn coated. In thispaper, it uses fieldbus technology and modular design approach to design a system which canachieve multi-yarn testing and multi-axis control. The system realizes the multi-axis motioncontrol and the requirement of bobbin yarn length testing for air-covering yarn machine toimprove the automation degree.In this paper, the three parts of PC, information excessive-board and the underlyingmonitoring-board makes up the detection and control system for air-covering machine. And ituses CAN and RS485fieldbus network to work as a communication channel. PC is composedof Mitsubishi PLC and HMI. It mainly completes the control of multi-axis, the setting of processparameter and the monitoring of production process. Excessive-board completes the pretreatmentof data for running yarn and the data transmission between PC and excessive-board. It reducesthe burden to process and transmission data of PLC. Each monitoring-board uses the LPC11C22as the control core. It can achieve36-way yarn states detection and12-way valves control.According to the actual demand, we can choice of multiple monitoring-boards to achieve thedetection of multiple yarns.On the basis of the hardware architecture, it completes the whole control system softwaredesign. Through the method of establishing the model of the frequency loop speed controlsystem and setting PI parameter, it launches a study of multi-axis speed governor linkage.Through the theory analysis of winding forming, it researches reasonable variation of yarn travelguides and winding speed to complete the control of anti-fold and anti-convex. It carried out theanalysis of reason that transports bobbin yarn length information delay time to ensure theaccuracy requirements of length detection.It accomplishes the performance debugging of the whole control system in the laboratory,and the performance of the speed control module and communication module are tested.Multi-axis linkage control and Single spindle yarn length measuring are realized while tuning performance of the machine. It builds speed test platform and communications test platform forimproving performance and analyzing the results. The PI values after tuning can be directlyapplied to the actual system and achieves good speed control effect. By setting a reasonableresponse time of the master-slave device, the accuracy and real-time performance of datacommunication can be optimized. The experimental results show that the more integrated shaftspeed control effect of this system is obvious, the calculation of yarn length of yarn cone isaccurate and reliable, HMI query result is outstanding, easy operation, good reliability, andstrong real-time performance. The paper provides a reference for further improvement of aircovered yarn machine.
