The content of this graduation design is the development of piston ring auto assemblemachine. The main research purpose is to realize the piston ring’s fully automated assemblyand solve a series of assembly problems in the pure manual or half mechanization assemblyprocess, such as the labor efficiency is low, the production cost is high, the assembly qualityis low. The automatic assembly machine has the advantages such as high level of automation,high assembly quality, high production efficiency, good human-computer interactions etc.Based on meeting the requirements of the actual assembly, this paper completes the planof the whole design to solve the assembly problem. For the design of the scheme, thestructure of the automatic assembly machine is divided into five systems: feeding system,Material conveying system,assembly system,sizing contraction system andelectricity-control system. Use a combination of means to design each subsystem step bystep, particularly the principle of mechanical design, the theory of mechanical transmissionetc. And combining with3D software, build the model of each subsystem device.By ANSYS simulation analysis software, realize the finite element analysis onand verifications of key components’rationality and feasibility. By utilizing mathema-tical modeling, calculate feeding system’s best feeding state and the reasonable conveyingparameter of the transportation system as well as provide the technical support for the wholedesign’s last results.Taking into account the characteristics of the automatic assembly machine’s eachsubsystem and the production cost, choose pneumatic as the driving force of the manipulator.Then according to the each station’s functional requirement and the structure’scharacteristics, design the pneumatic system plan. Based on the pneumatic principle and thecharacteristic of manipulators’ load, calculate the aerodynamic parameter, such as cylinderbore, stroke, parameters etc, and determine the solenoid valve parameters correspondingwith the cylinders. The above design can be to provide the technical support for themanipulators’ reliable operation in the work stations such as feeding,transportation,assembling.According to the characteristics of the mechanical structure and the requirements of assembly, put forward the electrical design scheme, and design the electrical circuit drawings.This equipment use PLC as the central logical controller, the MCGS touch screen as theupper computer. using a combination of the sensors technique and electrical technologyas well as writing the program of electric control system, realize a series of intelligentunmanned operations by manipulators, such as automatic testing the workpieces, automaticfeeding, automatic assembling, automatic unloading. The touch screen is used to achievehuman-computer interaction and visual auto assembling production.
