Ningxia lycium has rich nutritional value and pharmacological effects. With the increase in Ningxia lycium acreage and production in recent years,lycium industry has become a pillar industry in some areas of Ningxia.But its preservation processing techniques are seriously lagging behind At present,the main drying modes are hot air drying and natural air drying,with low drying efficiency、 poor product quality and high energy consumption,and has seriously hindered the development of Ningxia wolfberry industry. In this study,microwave drying was firstly used in lycium’s drying process.In order to reduce drying time and cost in the C-D stage of lycium drying process,introducing microwave drying when the moisture content (wb) of lycium is in 25%-30%.Firstly.completed the hardware design and the software design of the microwave drying device.The microwave output power of the device can be continuous adjustable and have different working models. Secondly,after the device produced the characteristics of lycium were tested.The results showed:1.the drying process of lycium has three stages,accelerated drying stage,constant drying stage and the falling rate drying stage.2.the microwave output power, the moisture content of lycium,the working models and the layers of material both have a significant effect on the drying moisture content and the dehydrating rate.3.when the microwave output power is 406w,the best moisture content of lycium is 25%(wb),the best drying model is model 2 and the layers of material is one layers composed the best optimal drying process.The mathematical model of microwave drying lycium was obtained.The result showed that the model of lycium is MR= exp(-e(a+bP+cP2)·t(d+eP+fP2)).The model of lycium microwave drying can describe the moisture content of lycium well during the drying process.The mathematical model can be used to predict the moisture of lycium.
