Arsenic has serious harm to human health and environment. Due to the flotability of arsenopyrite and pyrite is extremely similar, so in the industrial production of sulfide ore dressing, the arsenic usually associats with sulfide ore, combined with the arsenic mineral is the mian carrier of gold, which directly affects the quality of the sulphurconcentrate and waste of resources. So reducing arsenic in sulfur selected mine is necessary for the concentrator. Therefore, study on arsenic sulphide ore flotation separation can not only effectively improve the economic benefits of concentrator, but also has a certain theoretical and practical significance.The paper takes pure arsenopyrite and pyrite mineral as the research obje ct, investigating in the flotation behavior of arsenopyrite and pyrite under the systems such as adjusting agent and collecting agent.The results show when the dosage of organic inhibitor Y-3# is 24 mg/L, the poison of placer recovery is 20%, while the recovery of pyrite is about 85%. Under the condition of slurry p H 8.5 and organic inhibitor dosage of Y-3# for 20 mg/L, it can efficiently realize the artificial mixed mineral flotation separation.Doing arsenic sulfur separation process research into An-hui actual sulphur concentrate, taking Y-3# as inhibitors and cooperating with‘suppression of arsenic floating sulfur and suppression of sulfur floating arsenic’process plan. when the ore containing 35.00% S, 3.12% As and 0.90g/t Ag, by the‘suppression of arsenic floating sulfur’closed-circuit obtained a sulfur concentrate of 46.12% S with a recovery of 78.90%, containing arsenic 0.06 % with a recovery of 1.18%, containing gold 0.25g/t with a recovery of 17.57%. And a arsenic concentrate of 8.66% As with a recovery of 98.82%, containing sufur 21.24% with a recovery of 21.10 %, contain- ing gold 2.02g/t with a recovery of 82.43% were produced. Realize the high efficiency flotation separation of arsenic sulfide ore. Compared to ‘suppression of sulfur floating arsen- ic’process, the sulphur concentrate of test in arsenic grade is low, and the comprehensive index of sulfur is better. Thus, choosing‘suppression of arsenic floating sulfur’process plan has more advantages to the actual mineral separation.The paper discusses the mechanism of effect of organic inhibitors Y-3# on the pyrite and arsenopyrite pure mineral with the analytical methods such as Infrared spectrum analysis and ξ-potential. The results show that on pyrite surface, collector butyl xanthate has co mpetitive adsorption reaction with organic inhibitors Y-3# in the form of double yellow medicine. Organic inhibitors Y-3# has chelating reaction with mineral surface of the metalion probably, and mainly produces chemical adsorption on the surface.
