The silk for painting is the research object.Through study the ancient silk painting’s research and application status, and according to the current evaluation method of ink absorption property,we worked out 7 kinds of quantitative method to evaluat the silk painting effect.These methods are subjective evaluation, diffusion area test, the run ink length test, ink fastness test. According to the traditional mode using of Gelatin and Alum solution to produce silk painting, the study developed two new way using of urea rosin and Gelatin Alum or using of urea fluorinated silane and Gelatin Alum to manufacture the kind of silk. After the analysis of test results, obtained the best processing technology of this two method.The best processing technology of the new way using of urea rosin and Gelatin Alum is that pretreatment for 3 hours with concentration of urea solution2%, then treated with the concentration of rosin solution 2%, the final processing with Gelatin solution 5% and Alum solution 2% by mass concentration.The best processing technology of the new way using of urea fluorinated silane and Gelatin Alum is that pretreatment for 1 hours with concentration of urea solution2%, then deal with the diluted 1 times fluorinated silane water repellent finishing agent, the final processing with Gelatin solution 3% and Alum solution 2% by mass concentration.In addition, through contrast analysis the Difference of water absorption and surface friction performance between silk finishing before and after, concluded that reducing water absorption properties of silk, change the fabric surface to more smooth, feel and regularity to more variation, can make the silk have a better painting effect.
