With the growth of population and the emerging requirements of natural resources, the high quality material is demanded. Thus large quantity of polymer materials are developed and utilized in industry. However due to the non-degradable of the polymer materials, its wide applications lead to serious contamination of the environment. Therefore the task of devebping novel eco-friendly biodegradable materials is right under the pressure.Biodegradable material is a type of polymer materials, whose relative molecular mass decreasing and performance changing due to its chemical structure changing in certain microorganisms, or the environment of the human or animal body. With the gradually growing emphasis on the awareness of healthiness and environment-protection, biodegradable material is attracting widely research and shown various applications in packaging industry, agriculture, biomedical and the other fields.DFA/PEG is a kind of biodegradable polyester materials. It has shown excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, and becoming one of the most important materials in the fields of bio-medical and environmental protection. However, it is founded that available dimer acid is not ideal for the biodegradability. And it’ll affect its further application to some extentInspired of waste oil recycling problem, the edible soybean oil was used in the preparation of DFA in this paper to make full use of its biocompatibility and degradability so as to not only improve the DFA biodegradability but also give some references for the future using of waste oil of its recycle problem.Due to the limitation of the purification of waste oil recycling technology, edible soybean oil was used as the raw materials. Experimental results showed that DFA can be prepared by Diels-Alder principle. The optimal experimental conditions is:the reaction temperature 260℃; reaction time 8h; catalyst 9%; conversion of DFA is 71.7%.But it contained impurities, and should be further purified to prepare DFA/PEG biodegradable material. Experimental results showed the experimental conditions of the DFA/PEG biodegradable material is:temperature 180℃; catalyst SnCl2,0.3%; time 6h; reactant ratio of 1:1.7.The properties of DFA/PEG biodegradable material were discussed by GPC, FT-IR, TGA. The results showed DFA/PEG biodegradable material has better thermal stability, decomposition temperature was above 300℃, the fastest weight loss rate come across between 400℃ and 500℃. The samples were totally weightless after 35days in the selected soil. The top weightlessness in 30 min was 28.0%, while the bottom was 11.1% in distilled water with 50℃. When water was transformed to lipase, the digits turn into 28.3% and 12.8% relevantly.
