In recent years, Face-gear was called rotorcraft transmission of hope by western countries, had many advantages. However, in our country started late of research face-gear, To meet the high speed, heavy load, long life and other precision face gear was still not perfect, The main problem was how to improve the accuracy of surface by face-gear. So far the existing, grinding face-gear by worm wheel because of singular point and the processing efficiency and other issues, Also to large-scale production of high precision face-gear. Digital madeling and analysis of grinding temperature on face-gear, has important significance for high precision machining of face-gear.In this paper, the main research worked includes the following several points:(1) Face gear was 3D visualization and modeling by MATLAB. The relationship between the transmission ratio and radius coefficient, analysis of the face-gear diameter coefficient 、 minimum diameter coefficient and so on. The three-dimensional image of the drawing can be obtained more directly the basic parameters and the transmission ratio variation and cutter tooth number.(2) To through the analysis of the Gleason contact theory, was derived from the solution of the equation of face gear’s. The calculation of basic parameters of the grinding tooth surface would can be, the tooth surface’s contact arc length、the contact width were not the same. The overall trend was along the direction of tooth, close to the near heart side, elliptic contact area aggrandizement; Along the direction of tooth height, close to the root area, elliptic contact area aggrandizement.(3) Face-gear model was meshed by unit of eight node hexahedral, The 3D finite element model of single tooth of face gear. The used of Jeager rectangular dry grinding of the grinding temperature field theory, the grinding temperature field simulation of Face-gear of five representative points on tooth surface. the grinding temperature was not the same in each grinding position, consistented with the grinding contact area of change trend.(4) The calculation of heat equation of rectangular cooling uniform, To obtain the maximum surface temperature by the theory of value and experimental temperature by infrared thermometer, through the analysised and comparisoned of the three data, The results of finite element simulation error was within the permissible range., to verifyed the feasibility of theoretical simulation calculation.
