Silicone materials have the properties of both organic materials and inorganic materials. Silicone polymer modified with other organic polymers to improve the properties broadens the applications of silicone polymers. Phenol is an important organic chemical raw material such as phenolic resins, caprolactam, bisphenol A, salicylic acid. Because of structure and properties characteristics, phenol can be introduced by different chemical reactions into silicone molecular to combine the silicone material and phenol characteristics and make full use of the excellent characteristics of them.On the basis of the preparation of a series of silicone polymer containing phenol side chain, we study its structural characteristics and chemical activity and structure evolution law in different conditions through FT-IR, NMR thermal analysis, mechanical analysis, viscosity characteristics research. At the same time, exploring the applications of the polysiloxane with phenol side chain.By studying the structure and properties and synthesis of polysiloxane with phenol side chain, it can be that during the hydrosilylation reaction the phenolic hydroxyl groups need to be protected to prevent disturb the hydrosilylation reaction. Introducing phenol group, making the initial decomposition temperature of polysiloxane increases, the maximum rate of weight loss temperature decreases, accelerates the thermal decomposition process and the ultimate heavy residues decreases, which is also enhanced intermolecular forces change silicone rheology of the system.Studying the crosslinking system of modified silicone and crosslinking agent in the catalyst, analyzing the influence factors through orthogonal test and further analyzing the properties of four different conditions product and finding that the most significant impact on the product is phenol ratio, cross-linking agent followed,the catalyst is small. Products in different groups have similar structure and decomposition prosess, but the crosslinking density due to different formulations so that it leads to different thermal stability, mechanical properties of variance.Studying the polysiloxane with phenol side chain modified phenolic resin and find that modified polysiloxane and phenolic resins still have phase separation. But it can be found that changing the modified silicone-containing phenol link ratio will obtain a homogeneous system and the thermal stability of modified phenolic resin will be different in homogeneous systems.
