Exterior coating has become the main ornamental material by replacing ceramic tile which has many outstanding properties, like colorful, environment friendly, without peculiar smell, safety, easy to construction, good ventilation property and so on. Exterior wall paint developing in China steadily, but the quality is still far behind developed countries,in the development of coatings, there is a long way.Exterior wall coating with own unique advantages, has became more and more important in decoration materials of exterior wall.It was reported that much paint was wasted because of the destruction of microorganisms, the coatings research of the antiseptic propertywas appeared especially important.This paper, based on the renewable resources of soybean protein isolated, in this paper the main research contents were as follows:For the performance improvement of SPI emulsion.the process conditions of soy protein isolates (SPI) alkali modified for coating, focused on the factors which influence the properties of the modified SPI,which was the SPI dosage, dosage of alkali, temperature, time of alkali modification and so on.IR, UV.XRD and SEM were used to analysis the properties of modified SPI.At last, the reasonable modified process conditions:SPI mass fraction was 8.16%, pH= 10, temperature was 60℃, time for 30 min.Investigated the variety of additives and different conditions of the modified SPI solution, which influenced theantiseptic property,the bibulous rate of membrane and the influence of the water solubility.Add a variety of cross-linking agent and preservatives in the experimental, through experiments, the best cross-linking agent was A and B.and the best preservative was A and B.When the dosage of the cross-linking agent A and B, and was 2.5% and 0.3% by weight of SPI powder, the water absorption and water soluble rate were minimum;When used preservatives A and B.and quality mixture ratio was 1:3.the anti-corrosion effect was better,by weight of the total coatingwas 0.87%.The study of protein coatings, investigated added pigment, filler, and various additives, examined theproportion of pigments and binders, additives on the influence of the performance of, Through comparison of different dispersing agent and dosage, finally choose suitable dispersing agent and its dosage. At last got a reasonable coating formula.
