Situation And Solutions Of Excessive Levels Of Formaldehyde In Baigou Bags & Cases Export

Since the 21 st century, with the improvement of living and consumption standards, bags related products, being functional and decorative, has becoming an indispensible part in people’s lives all over the world.Especially in recent years, the average consumption of bags products is increasing year by year. In Bai Gou, we mainly produce and sell many sorts of bags taking leather, textile and synthetic leather as raw materials. Our products has been sold throughout China and exported to more than 130 countries and regions in the world. However, with sustainable growth, the export enterprises have encountered international nontechnical trade barriers because of over-level content of formaldehyde, which impeded the development foreign trade of bags in Bai Gou.Based on the development of bags industry in Baigou, we performed an investigation to the formaldehyde content of raw materials as leather, textiles and synthetic leather. This investigation was built on several detections made by professional organizations. We made a result about the current situation of formaldehyde in bags industry in Bai Gou, comparing with the international restrictions of formaldehyde content in different bags products from different markets. The result shows as follows: For different exporters, Ordinary cowhide leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is directly 86.4% and 77.8%, the direct contacts skin cowhide leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is directly 68.7% and 78.1%; Ordinary sheepskin Leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is 79.4% and 74.0%, the direct contact skin sheepskin leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is 55.5% and 63.9%;Ordinary transfer-film leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is directly 90.5% and 80.9%, the direct contact skin transfer-film leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is 72.7% and 81.8%. In General,the level of formaldehyde content in sheepskin is slightly lower than that in cowhide leather.The level of formaldehyde content in action leather is higher than that in sheepskin and cow leather based products.The white and light leather take a larger proportion in the unqualified products in the leather. The formaldehyde content varies from different kinds of textile products, but exceed the normal standard in different degrees,Products in dark colors take a larger proportion in the unqualified products in textile products. For different exporters, Ordinary PVC synthetic leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is 90.8% and 71.1%; the direct contacts PVC synthetic leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is directly63.3% and 81.8%; Ordinary PU synthetic leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is 94.10.8% and 89.1%; the direct contacts PU synthetic leather bags of formaldehyde examination qualified rate respectively is directly 71.4% and 80.0%. The level of formaldehyde content is commonly out of standard, but PU products are better than PVC ones in synthetic leather products.On account of the disqualification in formaldehyde content in Bai Gou, After the enterprise adopts the optimal raw material and the chemical material, enhancement production equipment advanced degree and production craft measures and so on. We explored several ways to control formaldehyde in production technology. After appropriate adjustment, the material can meet the standards of the export countries on formaldehyde content of the corresponding bags. Therefore, the research group made a conclusion: To overcome the formaldehyde problems in Baigou, the manufacturing enterprises need to stand a leading role in making effective solutions with the cooperation of industrial organizations and local government. With the cooperation and supervision from all aspects, we can produce products meeting the importing standards to overcome the international trade barriers, leading bags industries in Bai Gou improving in a better and faster way.
