Recently, the design and synthesis of new metal-organic coordination polymers have attracted more and more strong and continuous attention. It is due to their fascinating structures and potential applications in gas storage, catalysis, magnetism, photoluminescence and so on. In the field of coordination chemistry, N-heterocyclic carboxylate compounds are always a hot topic, the reasons are that N-heterocyclic carboxylate ligands possess special metal-coordinating ability, and they can exhibit versatile coordination modes, as well as the compounds based on these ligands have useful properties. In this paper, we designed and synthesized three ligands: 3-(methoxycarbonyl)-1,2,4-trazole-1-acetic acid(H2cta), 3-(methoxycarbonyl)-1,2,4-trazole-1-propionic acid(H2ctp), 4-(1-1,2,4-triazole)-methyl-1,2,3-triazole-3-acetic acid(Htmta), and obtained 14 functional complexes, [Cd2(cta)2(H2O)]·H2O}n(1), {[La2(cta)2(H2O)]·H2O}n(2), [Cu3(μ3-O)(μ3-trz)3]2[OH]2·15H2O}n(3), {[Pb2(cta)2]·2H2O}(4), [Mn(cta)(H2O)]n(5), {[Zn2(cta)2(H2SO4)]·2CH3CH2OH}n(6), {[Ba(cta)(H2O)2]·2H2O}n(7), {[Sr2(cta)2(H2O)2]·2H2O}n(8), {[Cd2(ctp)2(H2O)]·H2O}n(9), [Mn(ctp)(H2O)]n(10), {[Pb2(ctp)2]·H2O}n(11), [Zn(ctp)(H2O)3]n(12), [Cu(ctp)(H2O)2]n(13) and [Co(tmta)2]n(14). Among these metal-organic coordination complexes: 1-4, 8-11, 14 are 3D network structures, 1 and 2, 9 and 10 are isostructural structures, 5 is a 2D network structure, 6 exhibits a 2D double layers framework, 7 shows a 1D double-chains, 12 and 13 show 1D chains.Through the analysis of the structures of these fourteen complexes, we can confirm that the three ligands possess special metal-coordinating ability, especially H2 cta and H2 ctp, which show versatile coordination modes, and lead to the diversities of the complexes. What is more, these complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and the thermal stability and fluorescence properties of some complexes were investigated. The results show 6 and 14 have strong stability, that they decompose at about 300°C. The solid-state fluorescent determinations indicate that the complexes show luminescence emission, except that the complexes have quenching metal ion(Mn2+, Cu2+ and Co2+). The magnetic data analyse displayed that 3 is antiferromagnet. We also investigated the N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm of 11, it shows that 11 belongs to mesoporous material, which can absorp dye molecule.
