This paper selected 55SiCr steel, a new production the Dongbei Special Steel Group co. LTD, as the research object. The research focused on the new process of the rolling technology, which try to insure that the as-rolling state of the spring steel could meet the demonds of the directly drawing.By collecting the actual heating process parameters and mass production of decarburization values, different specifications of the wire rod decarburization were optimized by response surface layer depth, the results show that the depth is mainly affected by heating temperature, and also in accordance with the specifications in the heating process parameters: φ5.5~cp8mm specifications of the heating section 1 temperature under 1030℃, heating temperature 2 to 1060℃, φp8.5~φ13mm specifications of the heating section11 temperature under 1050℃, heating temperature 2 to 1080℃, φ13.5~φ17mm,1 heating temperature to 1090℃,2 period of temperature under 1140℃. By testing different temperature environment footwall of the cooling rate, as well as the microstructure, performance contrast research, draw a small specification Φ 5.5 mm wire rod in low temperature environment transport to the thermal insulation cover has produced a quenching microstructure, heat preservation measures must be taken to insure the microstructure and mechanical property. The aging treatment research demond strated that the aging time had little effect on the tensile strength of as-obtained wire rod. After 7 days aging treatment the maximum percentage reduction of area can be achieved, then the value tended to be stable. In order to improve the surface quality of the wire rod, the surface of the steel billet need to be ripped off. The spinning temperature of 860℃ was selected after the optimization. According to the optimization of the billet skinned, heating system, spinning temperature, stelmor line cooling manner Φ 5.5 mm, Φ14 mm wire rod rolling, test, the results meet all the requirements of users.
