With the rapid development of machinery industry, micromachining technology become the key research direction of machinery industry, the micromachining technology has been widely used in aerospace and other fields. As a new micromachining technology, because of its unique advantage, micro-EDM deposition technology is studied by more and more experts and scholars at home and abroad. Studying the new technology and equipment adapted to specific functional discharge deposition, improving the extreme manufacturing capability of micro-EDM deposition technology and achieving microscale metal structure by new method, becomes the development tendency of the technology.This paper analyzes the realization of micro-EDM deposition technology and its requirements of the processing equipment, design and develop a micro-EDM deposition dedicated device based on "PC + Movement Controller". This equipment of hardware system are built successfully and the hardware systems including PC, PMAC movement controller, servo motors and drivers, motion control platform, precision spindle, workbench, etc; The paper also set the communication mode between key components. The PID servo control system is adjusted,This system’s software structure are modular designed, human-computer interactive interface is developed by VB programming language on the Windows operating system platform, the fuction of each module of the software structure is realized. By PC real-time controling lower machine, it implements the function that software auxiliary control the system for deposition process.According to the characteristics of deposition process, this paper develop pulse power and confirm the detection method of discharge condition, the strategies of layer deposition process is studied, the process control model is established and control program code is written.On the basis of a large number of deposition experiments, this paper discuss the influence of the process parameters on the deposition process, sum up the processing laws; micro-EDM single pulse discharge deposition experiment and layer scanning deposition experiments by different trajectories are studied; results show that the system has the ability to micro-EDM deposition processing.
