| Abstract: The different greenbelt at beside of urban street affects the diffusion of airborne particulate matter (PM) diversely. Therefore, studying the function of green space configuration on the removal and diffusion of particular matter is a significant basis in improve the pollution management effect of green space through refinement of green space structure. In this paper, we selected six types of green configuration modes in three typical arterial streets in Haidian District, Beijing, with the configuration including arbor, shrub, herb, arbor-shrub, arbor-herb and arbor-shrub-herb. Particles samplers (Dustmate) and potable weather station (NK4500) were placed at 1.5m and 3m height used to monitor the particle concentration and environmental factors from different sources location, in order to analyze the abilities of those green configuration modes in the diffusing the particular matters. The results showed that:(1) Atmospheric particulate matter concentration (APMC) in urban roads greenbelt is higher in the spring than that in the other three seasons, comparing to APMC under single configuration, the value of APMC under composite configuration is lower and shows a stable daily trend. The daily and seasonal variations of APMC amplify with the diminishing particulate size.(2) In general, Urban road greenbelt remove the PM on both the horizontal and direction, the removal effect of greenbelt on PM depend on the size of particle size, which increases with particle size getting larger, In the daytime, the removal effect of greenbelt on PM is much higher during themidday than that in the periods early morning and late afternoon.(3) hroughout the year, removal capacity of urban road greenbelt for coarse PM in spring and summer is stronger than in autumn and winter, removal capacity on fine PM are as follows:summer> spring> in autumn and winter. Meanwhile, removal capability of plant leaves to PM is higher than that of branches.(4) Urban road greenbelt with better land cover shows greater removal effect to PM on vertical direction. Meanwhile, greenbelt with moderate green vegetation canopy displays a good removal effect on horizontal direction.(5) During the period of spring and summer, the horizontal removal effect on PM under the composite configuration is higher than that under the single configuration model, in which the removal effect of arbor-shrub-herb and arbor-herb are the optimal. In autumn and winter, the removal effect of green space with evergreen vegetation on PM is better than that of the deciduous tree species patterns, in which arbor-herb and herb green space show optimal removal effect(6) To a certain extent of PM concentrations, the removal capacity of urban road green space vegetation increased and then decreased with increasing concentration. Both the vertical and horizontal removal effects of greenbelt on PM are positively correlated with temperature. Moreover, the horizontal removal capacity is also positively correlated with wind speed, while the vertical removal capacity is negatively correlated with the relative humidity. |
