Health risk assessment (HRA) rises in the twenty eighty's, associates environmental pollution with physical health, makes risk as the evaluation index, describes risk of the pollution quantitatively imposed on physical health. With the growing problem of water pollution, particularly serious threat to drinking water safety, conducting water environmental health risk assessment plays a useful role to know about water pollution, migration and transformation ways of pollutants and the harm to human health. This paper is just bases on this, applies health risk assessment model, combines water quality monitoring data of heavy metals, evaluates the risk induced by the heavy metals of the Yangcheng Lack water resource. While, on this basis, health risk imposed on lake residents by heavy metals is comprehensive analyzed from ways both risk due to water resource(water intake and vegetable intake) heavy metals and risk due to non-water resource(rice intake, air inhale and skin contact) heavy metals. Finally sources analysis of heavy metals is conducted from rivers, sediments release and atmospheric deposition. Results indicate:Main heavy metals in the Yangcheng Lake are Cd, Cu, Zn and Pb. The health risk caused by heavy metals is about 1.00E-05a-1, lower than 5.0E-05a-1,the value recommended by ICRP, but higher than 1.0E-06a-1, the standards recommended by the Sweden Bureau of Environment Protection and Holland Ministry of Building and Environment Protection. Heavy metal contamination of water sources is not optimistic, and health risk caused by Cd is the largest. The result of comprehensive analyses of both risk due to water resource(water intake and vegetable intake) heavy metals and risk due to non-water resource(rice intake, air inhale and skin contact) heavy metals indicates that the proportion of health risk caused by water intake is 33%, the proportion of health risk caused by vegetable intake is 16%, totally the proportion of health risk caused by water resource heavy metals is 49%, the proportion of health risk caused by non-water resource heavy metals is 51%, among the heavy metals, health risk caused by Cd is much larger than risk caused by other metals. The result of sources analysis of heavy metals indicates the main heavy metals resource of the Yangcheng Lake is from river.
