Soil includes many kinds of chemical elements, and it is the base resource for human being's survival and development. But as a result of the rapid development of economics and urbanization, the humanity produced massive pollution elements in life and industry production processes, to the soil directly or through the water and the atmosphere. It will not only cause the soil polluted, but also the contaminations which harms the human health, will enter the human body through the food chain. Therefore, the content, the distribution and probable source of contamination capture people's widespread attention, the verification and the appraisal become an important topic in the environmental pollution controlling.Through studying content and distribution of chemical elements in Qingdao, we can find out the distribution of contaminations in Qingdao. Finding out the origin and proliferation scope of certain element has the extremely important reference value and directive significance to the appraisal of the pollution degree of soil, the latent environ-ment risk and corresponding environmental protection policy.Given the contents of various matters at 319 observation points in Shinan District, Shibei District, Sifang District, Licang District, Laoshan District in Qingdao, this ar-ticle mainly studied the distribution charactristic and the pollution degree of 8 kind of heavy metal contaminations in Qingdao. Firstly, we got the distribution by means of mathematical interpolation. Then we studied the contributing factor and the origin. The result indicated:heavy metal contaminatioins concentrated in the living zone, the industrial zone and the traffic zone, the human activity caused the increment of the ele-ment's content in soil. Finally we located the source of element S through inverting the diffusion equation.
