A new inorganic composite coalgulant named FC which made of fly-ash and red.mud in JiaoZuo is studied in this paper.The results of flocculating effect tests onsimulated and practical sewage and the comparison with polyalumimun chloride (PAC)and alunite show that the best pH of sewage for FC is around 7,the pH ofsewage puts great importance on COD,phosphorus removal effect and residualaluminum content,but little on turbidity removal effect of FC.FC is suitable forworking in normal atmospheric temperature ,high(>40~C)temperature is bad for COD,phosphorus and turbidity removal effect and residual aluminum content;FC does well in treating domestic sewage and paper—making wastewater,when given the same dose to treat domestic sewage,FC does better than alunite in turbidity,COD and colour removal effect,comparing with PAC,FC does better in COD removal effect, shows aboat the same turbidity removal effect,but not beuer in decolour effect;when treat paper-making wastewater in the same dose,FC does better than PAC and alunite in turbidity.COD and colour removal effect.The residual aluminum content of FC and alunite is growing while PAC shows no regular trend as the dose growing,but the FC gets lower than aluminum . FC purifys wastewater by charge neutralization and furl mechanism.The budget shows that the production cost of FC in industry is only 489.04 yuan each ton,the cost to treat wastewater of FC is 1.61yuan each ton and 2.65yuan each ton if calculated by production cost and selling price(800yuan each ton),this project Can realize treating wastewater by waste,relieve the pollution burden of environment,create great society,economy and environment value,SO it has a vast range ofprospects.
