| This paper is mainly focusing on the study of poly (meth)acrylate in UV curable coatings and inks application。First, the effects of polymerization conditions, such as concentration of initiators, monomer/initiator addition time and reaction temperature, the reaction conditions were optimized in order to obtain desired molecular weight of the products.Second, many different combination of monomers based on methyl methacrlate, n-butyl methacrylate,2-hydroxyethyl methyacrylate and styrene have been used to synthesis polymethacrylates copolymer resin. The resulted copolymers have been evaluated in the UV curable metallization topcoat formulation on the properties such as compatibility, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, adhesion, long time adhesion stability and hardness. It had been proved by those work that suitable (meth)acrylate copolymer could be obtained by choosing right (meth)acrylate monomer and optimized process, and to be used in UV curable coating formulation to give better overall properties through interpenetration net work.Finally, the author also gave some perspectives on the research field. |
