With the rapid development of the Mold & Die industry, using CAD technology for changing the traditional Mold & Die design ways , which has made Mold & Die design to achieve a certain intelligence and automation, is becoming a hot research of modern tooling industry. But now there are still some problems with the application of blanking die CAD technology. Therefore, the Mold & Die industry must adjust design technology, manufacturing processes and production patterns, etc to this request. In view of this, I put forward " Studying and Development of Blanking Die CAD System Based on PRO/ENGINEER" this issue after studying the relevant domain knowledge of the blanking die. Using VC++, Pro/E and other software for the platform, build a system man-machine interface, develop the calculation procedure and establish blanking die standard parts library. Through the establishment of standard parts and Mold & Die and other three-dimensional gallery, complete blanking die three-dimensional solid assembly. Main elements include:1) Pre-processing module of the workpiece graphics. Based on compatibling with product designs which are generated by other software as far as possible, finish inputing the information of parts, pre-processing graphics, and judging analysis of process of blanking etc. Point out that the place which does not meet the blanking then inform the designers that changes must be made and provide information for follow-up steps simultaneously.2) Study the optimal layout module and achieve the goal of saving production costs under the circumstance of meet the quality requirements of parts.3) Use Pro/E secondary development technology for developing assisted calculation module of blanking die. At the same time make the accumulated experience in the design of the school factory involve in the design process, making the design process standardization.4) Study the establishment of function deployment of the blanking die standard parts library , standard parts parameters assembly and modules of blanking die standard parts library etc. And build module of the blanking die standard parts library.5) Develop automated assembly tooling module with Pro/E secondary development technology including procedure of assembly mould,ways to automaticly obtain information parts, virtual assembly and subsequent processing stage and so on. Complete the purpose of the Mold & Die of the online assembly.In short, through establishing this blanking die CAD system, the stamping die in the Pro/E's operational efficiency has been improved, and the design of stamping die in Pro/E has been achieved a certain degree of intelligent and automation. The study accomplish the purpose desired and the system has obtained a good effect in practice.
