RCC(Resin coated copper foil) is a product of ultra thin electrolytic copper foil with one layer or multi-layers of special resin on the rough surface after being dried and solidified.As a new type of base material for HDI(high density interconnect), RCC had been widely used in the field of electronics. But due to a relatively short period of development time, high technological content, the manufacturing technology of RCC was only controlled by several developed countries . The first product line of RCC in China was builted and put into operation in Agust,2002, in Guangdong. However, the existing manufacturing technology of RCC in our country is not only complicated with high cost, but also with heavy energy consumption and heavy pollution. To further perfect the manufacturing technology of RCC, we carried out the research of waterborne epoxy resin. RCC was prepared by continuous cathodic electrophoresis. In this process, the new technology can not only shorten the product process, but also may contribute to saving energy and environmental protection.The waterborne epoxy resin emulsion of better water-solubility was prepared by chemical reaction of ethanolamine with E-44 epoxy resin and phase inversion. In this paper ,the factors such as the reaction temperature, the watering acceleration and the reactant ratio were investigated, which had a major influence on the stability of the waterborne epoxy resin emulsion and the film property after forming. The optimum synthetic technology was optimied. Reaction temperature of modification was 70~80℃, the reaction temperature of salt formtion was 60~70℃, the ethanolamine drops speed keep about 3~4/min.The waterborne epoxy curing agent, with good water-solubility, stability, emulsified and solidified function, was prepared throught the reaction of 501 reactive diluent with thriethylene-tetramine and E-44 epoxy resin. The effects of reaction temperature, the proportion of ingredients and the feeding ways on the synthetic curing agent and film property were investigated. The synthetic waterborne epoxy curing agent had better compatibility with synthetic waterborne epoxy resin.The structure of synthetic curing agent was characterized by infrared spectrum. The results indicated that, the reaction temperature by using triethylene tetramine was 60~70℃, the amounts of acetic anhydride was 20ml.The waterborne epoxy resin emulsion, which was prepared by waterborne epoxy resin and curing agent was used as electrophoresis buffer. The resin coated copper foic was prepared by the methods of cathodic electrophoresis coating. This experiment tested the influence of self-emulsified epoxy resin and the amount of curing agent on the electrical conductivity, cohesive force, solidified effect, film property and hydrophilicity of 501 waterborne epoxy system. At the same time,the effect of the ratio of resin on curing agent,electrophoresis voltage,time,plate area and electrophoresis temperature on this experiment was carried out. The results indicated that, the voltage was 10v, elec-trophoresis time was 4min, space between the electrodes was 4mm.The chemical structures of waterborne epoxy resin, waterborne epoxy curing agent and electrophoresis coating were characterized by infrared spectrum. The film surrounding was tested by scanning electron microscope. |
