In this paper, the main purpose of polymerization study is that providing the compositions of polymerization systems of PMMA, that investigating the effects of compositions and reacting conditions of bulk polymerization system on the properties of PMMA, and a lot of resins of both were prepared by the experiment of successive bulk polymerization, meanwhile, all kinds properties of PMMA were measured and analyzed.Poly(methyl methacrylate-co-maleic anhydride) copolymer were synthesized by solution polymerization. The influence of reaction temerature and maleic anhydride (MAH) ingredient on the copolymer were investigated. The copolymer were characterized by Fourier transfoums infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It was found that maleic anhydride were copolymerized with methyl methacrylate in the copolymer. The higher reaction temperature was the higher the weight percent of maleic anhydride in (MMA-MAH) copolymer. The more maleic anhydride was in the comonomer, the more maleic anhydride in the copolymer. The thermal weight loss behavior and activation energy results calculated by the Ozawa and Kissinger equation revealed that the copolymerization reaction temperature and the content of maleic anhydride in comonomer affected the thermal stability of (MMA-MAH) copolymer. And the themal stability of (MMA-MAH) copolymer is affected mainly by the content of maleic anhydride in copolymer.
