Our country has abundant resources of kyanite,but most of the lower gra-de ore can not be directly used.with the expansion of the scope of industrial use,the domestic and international market demand for high-quality kyanite are increasingly great,so the mineral purification of kyanite is imperative, a low gra-de kyanite of Nanyang are in ore reserves,and easy to mining,but the occurre-nce of associated minerals is complex and difficult to separate,and the content of mica is high,so it is difficult to separate it from the kyanite.To solve this technical problem,we have to carry out the systematic testing of mineral prope-rties and mineral processing.According to the characteristics research of Nanya-ng kyanite,we carry out processes of system test by using selective-grinding,re-moving mud,mica anti-floating,gravity-floating joint,grading-flotation,single flotat-ion,floating-gravity joint.The results showed that:(1)The kyanite mainly consists of kyanite-quartzite rock and a part of ser-icite quartzite rock,the main gangue minerals are quartz,mica,kaolinite and so on. Of which the contents of kyanite 22%,quartz 46%,muscovite(biotite)19%, kaolinite7%.The disseminated relationship of aimed and gangue kyanite minera-lsare complex.(2)The selective-grinding of minerals can not only separate the aimed mineral and mica better,but also protect the kyanite crystal.By using grinding media,media fill rate test,the concentration of test grinding,grinding speed and grinding fineness,series of test can draw:rod milling of the kyanite is better than milling on the mineral of selectivity,when the grinding concentration is 30%,the concentration of grinding is 60%,mill speed is 30r/min,the grinding fineness-0.074mm 68.52%,the monomer dissociation of kyanite is better and can be separated from mica effectively.(3)The test of removing mud shows,it is an important step to remove mud before the flotation because it can reduce arm aceutical consumption and acquire fine concentrate.X-ray diffraction (XRD) of the desliming product results shows that the process of removing mud take off some iron,titanium and most of mica and other impurities. (4)By using the test of sulfate and lauryl amine dosage,it can be drawn the suitable conditions of mica anti-floating:sulfate dosage of 700g/t,pH=4,lauryl amine dosage of 160g/t,by-using the test of sulfate,sodium silicate and collector dosage,we can obtain optimum process conditions of kyanite roughing,which showed that: sulfate dosage of 700g/t,pH=3.5,sodium silicate dosage of 150g/t,the amount of collector 2000g/t.(5)Comparison on the three indicators of the ultimate Concentrate of gravity-floating joint,grading-flotation,single-flotation process,we can find out the single-flotation processing briefly and the concentrate grade and recovery of open single-flotation were high,but the content of potassium,sodium oxide of concentrate are exceeded.To reduce the content of potassium,sodium oxide further,we use gravity seperation on the flotation concentration to be re-election retreated,the rate of the final close-circuit refined mineral of it reaches 21.56%,the content of kyanite 86.50%,the recovery rate of kyanite 84.77%,K2O+Na2O<0.5%,which reaches the national standard of LJ-55 index and provides experimental evidence for the utilization of the kyanite for the future.
