Continuous Preparation Of Aluminum Foam Technology

Aluminum foam is a high specific strength structure-functional material which is made up of gas and metal. Because of its multiple functions, this material has been widely used in automotive, aerospace and construction industryThis paper has analysed the process of precursor foaming of foam aluminum. The experiment of precursor foaming was made and foamable precursors were obtained from melt route. By the foaming of foamable precursor, aluminum foam was prepared successfully, and temperature, stirring time, and other related parameters were obtained eventually.In order to realize continuous preparation process of aluminum foam, this paper has designed one continuous preparation set based on the method of precursor foaming processing and the design of metallurgical continuous casting machine. And the continuous casting experiments of foamable precursors were made by using the device. Eventually the paper got a number of important technical parameters and the main problems existing in continuous casting.Fluent softare was used to simulate the continuous casting solidification temperature of mold. Reference to the results of experiments and the simulating, the key technical parameters were modified, and the design of the continuous preparation equipment was optimized.
