In mining engineering, the research of stope structure parameters and mining sequence is one of the important contents of rock mechanics. For underground mines, the determination of reasonable stope structure parameters and underground mining sequence are prerequisites of safe and efficient mining production.Previously, There exist certain limitation in research method in this aspect, such as relying on experience, which makes some potential risk factors difficult to find and analyze. With the increase of mining depth, in deep orebody, the rationality of the stope structure parameters and mining sequence become even more obviously important. Therefore, in some mine, a certain amount of ore bodies are compelled to be given up in deep mining, causing the loss of mineral resources.This paper studies rock mechanics properties and rock structure's impact on mining and the stope structure parameters of an iron mine.Firstly the paper introduces the characteristics of orebody, hydrology geology and engineering geology condition. In the field, investigations of rock mass structure are made and the regular patterns of the spatial distribution are studied.Then the paper studies the rock mechanics parameters. Indoor physical and mechanical tests on rock example are done. Rock ore quality is graded. Rock mechanics parameters are determined.Lastly the paper simulates the stope structure parameters with software, and gets the optimization stope structure parameters after analyzing.Mineral resources are not recyclable and thus valuable, which requires we mining technical personnel to ensure high ore recovery rate and low dilution rate, and to adjust measures to local conditions. For underground mines, reasonable underground stope structure parameters can ensure efficient recovery which is of extremely realistic significance.
