Since the Transmission Line Model, which is an analysis method of electromagnetic field in time and space domain based on Huygens principle was presented by Peter.B.Johns and R.L.Beurle, TLM has developed rapidly along with the improvement of computer technology. The concept of physical processes in TLM method is clear and easy to be programmed in computer. TLM method can be used in observing voltage and current changes on transmission line. It can also used in electromagnetic field analysis and computing on long-range, extra high voltage power transmission lines. This model has been applied to feature high-speed IC simulation, simulation of microstrip line, electromagnetic field in ferrosilicon electric arc furnace. In short it can be used for numerical simulation of electromagnetic wave transmission, scattering characteristics, it can also be used to analyze the electromagnetic field, heat conduction, acoustic fields. In recent years, more and more people are using TLM method to do analysis and simulation.In recent years, with the rapid development of very scale integrated circuit (VLIC) and the constant expansion of power transmission system, transient response of transmission lines has been the concern of many scholars and experts,at the same time a large number of journals both at home and abroad have published research articles related to TLM.However, analytical solution of equations of transmission lines are almost based on the physical propagation of traveling wave, lack in truly viable and scientific proofs and rigorous mathematical derivation process. Few literatures are related to this part. In this paper, electrical engineering and mathematical knowledge is used to prove the correctness of the transmission line model method in theory. Models of one-dimensional transmission line as well as two-dimensional transmission line are established, so are the process and calculation of parameters of equivalent. During this process, we can see the advantages of TLM. Then three- dimensional Symmetrical Expanded Node Transmission Line Method (SEN TLM) and Symmetrical Condensed Node Transmission Line Method(SCN TLM) are discussed. By comparing the advantages of handling a variety of borders drawn, we get Symmetrical Super-Condensed Node Transmission Line Method (SSCN TLM).In the final, transmission line model method is applied to solve the dynamic circuits, three-phase power transmission lines and electrical simulation, electromagnetic calculations.
