In recent years, with the development of optoelectronic technology, the researches and applications, related with magneto optic effect in photonics, computer, information processing, optical fiber communication, scientific research and magnetic measurement methods, have became extensive and intensive. Nowadays, it is inevitable that the existing measuring methods of geomagnetic field based on magneto-optic effect shows some defects. In order to further improve the efficiency of the existing geomagnetism measurement, we put forward a new measuring method of the geomagnetic field by using the principle of magneto optic effect——magnetic rotation imaging method. According to the principle, this measuring method has some characteristics such as imaging ability, three-dimensional resolution, high measurement speed, no measurement blind.The magnetic rotation imaging method is a complete technique system, and the related researches are improving step by step. Some experiments are expounded in the paper to offer some reliable data and effective experiment program and explore the specific methods to achieve the technology, including the following work:(1) Summarize the development and application of the measuring methods of geomagnetic field technology systematically at present; analyze the limitations of the existing methods; put forward a new measurement method of geomagnetic field,——magnetic rotation imaging method, and introduce the involved theories and features.(2) Introduce the magneto-optic effect by using three kinds of magneto-optic principles, emphasizing the Faraday magneto-optic effect. These provide theoretical support for the magneto-optical image technology.(3) Perform compute simulations based on the principles of magneto-optical modulation——the integration of MaLuS law and lissajous' figure, including the sine wave, the triangular wave, the saw-tooth wave, and the rectangular wave magneto-optical modulations modeling. Analyze and summarize the properties of the four wave magneto-optical modulations. Focus on the research of the sine wave magneto-optical modulation——frequency multiplication method, and analyze the precision of this method.(4) Compare and summarize simulations of the rectangular wave and other wave magneto-optical modulations. Experimentally study the rectangular wave magneto-optical modulation, and analyze the measuring precision of this method. The conclusion showed that rectangular wave magneto-optical modulation possessed particular advantage whether used in signal managing or used in polarization measuring. |
