In the history of mathematics, the Arabian plays a very important roal in conserving, inproving and spreading the mathematics of Greece, Hindu and Chinese, they also make a great contibution to the progressing of the European's after the Renaissance. THE ALGEBRA is a great influential Moslem algebra work in the Dark Ages.Based on the previous research , the life, achievements of the al-Khowārizmīwho is the author of the work, and the main content of THE ALGEBRA are introduced in the beginning of the paper. After that, the Chinese edition which is translated from English is revised by the original Arabic work. In the rest of the paper ,it mainly discusses the original methord idea and the inflnence of the work according to comparision and analysis on the relative content from different cultures and different historic periods. The structure of the thesis is as follows:In the first part, the historic background, the life and contributions of the al-Khowārizmīare introduced; analyses the reasons of appearing the so great scientist. In the second part, the circulation of the different editions and the main content of THE ALGEBRA are briefly summarized; the Chinese edition which is translated from English is revised by the original Arabic work in the same part.In the third part, the paper analyses the origin of the work's methord idea based on compairing with relevant knowledge from Babylonia, Greece, Hindu and China respectively which are all earlier than the work. It shows that The Algebra originates from Hindu directly, not Greece. In the fourth part, the paper analyses the work's influence based on compairing with relevant part from Arab and Europe respectively which are all later than the work. It shows that The Algebra has a great influence on many relative latter works, especially the European in the Renaissance, such as Leonardo of Pisa's Liber abbaci, or Book of Calculation and Cardano's The Great Art.In the last, it is not difficult for us to come to the conclusion, the origins and the influences of The Algebra are beneficial to display the mathematics development objectly and Chinese mathematics' great influence on the world's main trend.
