The most informations of surrounding environment apperceived by the creature, are accepted and transferred into the cerebra by vision. In recent years, the research on the mechanism of vision nerve has been becoming an important problem about the neuroscience and the brain science. There are two interrelated factors about the form of vision: one is related to the performance of optics systerm making up of visual organ; The other is related to the mechanism of energy conversion, information transfer, nervous system, and nerve centre. Based on different developmental stages of the vole, this paper researched the development of nuclei of the vision by common histology methods. At the same time, we measured the concretely morphological changes of different developmental periods of nuclei of the vision. The purpose is to discuss the postnatal development of the vole, and accumulate data on the vision research. The research results as follows:1 From 0 days to 20 days, the optic nerve diameter of Microtus oeconomus in the development is significantly decreased. Development of optic nerve diameter is gradually decreased stability from 20 days to 30days. From 30 days to adult, it becomes steady.2 The suprachiasmatic nucleus of Microtus oeconomus is located dorsal to the optic chiasm on each side of the third ventricle. The suprachiasmatic nucleus was oval in shape in transverse section and its rostro-caudal axis was 500~600μm. The distance form rostral suprachiasmatic nucleus to optic chiasm is about 100μm. The biggest cross-sectiona is in the 250~300μm and the diameter is about 250~330μm. Cell densities appear great in rostral and ventral of the SCN, but the cell in the ventral is smaller than the rostral. The SCN is anatomically and functionally organized into two subdivisions. Along with the increasing of age, volume of the suprachiasmatic nucleus occurs notable change. For 0 days, the suprachiasmatic nucleus is clarity and the shape is same as the adult. Cells arrays loose and dye is light in Nissle stained. The volume is 0.00143±0.00026 mm~3 and the neuron numbers were amounted approximately to 82.6±3.06. The volume of the suprachiasmatic nucleus increases to 0.00239±0.00088 mm~3 in the postnatal 6 days. After postnatal 21 days, the volume of the suprachiasmatic nucleus becomes steady.3 The dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus shows diverse morphological character in the different postnatal development stage. From the construction of cell organization, dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus assume long strip shape, we can not see the laminar structure from the Root vole dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus. The rostro-caudal axis of lateral geniculate nucleus was 300~360μm and the biggest cross-sectiona is in the 160~200μm. Cells in lateral geniculate nucleus show that the dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus is quitely well-proportioned and no obvious subdivisions. The cell was oval and polygon. The volume of the lateral geniculate nucleus shows three obvious growth stages .The volume of the first stage increases one time from birth to open the eyes, about postnatal 15days, the cell number is also increase; The secnod stage is relatively steady from birth to 30days; Form 30days to adult is the third stage, the volume of the lateral geniculate nucleus increases from 0.000830 mm~3 at birth to 0.003241 mm~3 in adult.4 The olivary pretectal nucleus lie behind the outside of lateral geniculate nucleus , adjacent to posterior pretectal nucleus. The nuclei is rotundity, and is formed of dense arrangement and dyeing relatively deep cells, and the rostro-caudal axis is about 120μm.The nuclei is large the shapes are changeful, and have oval and polygon. The volume of the Root vole occurrs obviously change in the postnatal development process, and increases from 0.0001444 mm~3 at birth to 0.002725mm~3 in adult; But increases quite slowly from 12days to adult. Finally, the volume of the olivary pretectal nucleus is about 0.0036 mm~3.
