Based on the relative literatures on recent design and setting up of detonation tube, this paper expatiates on the multifunctional characteristics of a new detonation tube. The tube's feasibility, reliability and appliance range are analyzed and discussed.After the construction of the tube, we focus on the debugging of all the major parts of the system, including tube body, spray system, heating and thermal-preservation system, ignition system and pressure-temperature measuring system, to make all the subsystems meet the design requirement and run normally. Experiments are carried on in the debugging of heating and thermal-preservation system and spray system respectively. Besides, multiple ignition methods are used in the experiments, and the results indicate that the ignition system run normally and relative phenomenon in tube is caught through the observer window. At last, lots of experiments are done using PO samples to test the stability and rationality of the system. In the tests, synchronous controlling system is installed to ensure the spray and the ignition system coordinate with each other. Detonation parameters of fuel PO dispersed in air, such as detonation pressure, detonation velocity, critical initiation energy and cell size, are obtained experimentally. The results indicated that the whole system can meet the demand and standard which are required in the coming experiments.
