Cat-eye effect plays a very important role in the active laser detection and antenna pointing .But at the practical war field ,the propagation of laser beam must be affected by the atmospheric turbulence, which induces the beam wandering ,expansion ,intensity scintilla ,phase fluctuation ,wavefront distortion and so on ,these so-called turbulence effects are very bad to the cat-eye effect application.The traditional method studying on cat-eye effect is the geometric based on the regular beam incidence. However ,the irradiated regular laser beam out of emitter ,will be affected by the atmospheric turbulence on the propagation .Then the optical field arriving at the object optic system(here we call cat-eye system) will be random with the statistics character of turbulent .Then ,the traditional geometric method can be not still applicable to the studying on the cat-eye effect with the random optical field incidence .How to study and analyze the random field propagation through the optical system is my paper's main task.The main research results of this thesis are as follows:(1)Based on the multiple phase screens, the laser beam propagation through the atmospheric turbulence is simulated ,the random field distribution is obtained on the lens of cat-eye system;(2)A novel simulation method for turbulent phase screen is developed which is called Malacara polynomials ,the comparison between it and Zernike polynomials for simulation shows that its simulation result is more accurate.(3)A geometric method is proposed based on which we can construct the shape of random field ,which can be used to study the change of the random aberrant wavefront through the optical system;(4)Based on the Collins integral formula ,the returning wave field is calculated and analyzed with the random field incidence ,which is the precondition for the studying on the beam reverse propagation .(5)The whole laser beam propagation through atmospheric turbulence and cat-eye system is simulated with the MATAB .With the parameter input , the results of propagation and corresponding images can be obtained .The program will establish a good foundation for the final software of this research task .
