Seismic P-wave Seismic Phase Identification

The seismic event detection of the P phase is an important problem in seismic research. Modulus Maxima of Wavelet Transform is an useful method for picking up the singularities in signals. It is necessary to eliminate random factor interference for applying the method. In this paper, we first eliminate random factor based on the standard deviation of random factor, then detect the P phase with window energy ratio factors. Such algorithms are effective in detecting P phases.The results of Simulation Data indicate that the method in this paper could detect the P phase more robust.
