Duality, as well as supersymetry, is one of the most important concepts in physics that tries to unify all the foundamental laws of the universe. Although not very successful in unifying the forces that underlying various kinds of interactions, duality indeed predicted lots of useful results for both physicsts and mathematicians. In this article we first presented the rudimentary concepts of duality, early models and possible relations with graviton. Five foundamentary superstrings and M theory were also dicussed concisely but clearly in order to make the full things an entity since duality plays an extremely important role in superstring theory. Several kinds of dualities in superstring theory were introduced and at last duality relations between the five foundamental superstrings, M theory and 11 dimentional supergravity, which has no been introduced in this article, have been set up in terms of duality transformations.
