Gps Baseband Chip System-level Functional Verification

Global Positioning System(GPS) has the function of navigation, orientation and timing, which are characteristic of full-powerfully(ocean, land, aviation, spaceflight), globality, all-weather, continuity and real time. It is considered the most important development in the field of orientation, navigation and timing. GPS baseband chip is a high-speed SOC, with the function of baseband control and process. It is very important in Global Positioning System. This paper's emphasis is to introduce system level function verification of GPS baseband chip.With the fact that scale of chips and the complexity of function ceaselessness improve, tape out cost rapidness increases as well as marketplace requires that R&D period becomes shorter, function verification is more and more important in chip design, the thsis firstly introduce function of verification , the knowledge and all of the tools of system level function verification of GPS baseband chip, then analyse Synopsys's Openvera verification language as we use it to write verification program.In the base of simply introduce the system design of GPS baseband chip, the thsis promote a verification strategy which is based on Synopsys's Designware VIP library and analysis of coverage. Then detailedly construes verification scheme and testbench. In the process of complex system level function verification, the thesis picks up the important parts of the whole verification to expatiate.To be complementarity of system level verification, we use Synopsys's Formality to do equivalent check in all phases of the whole design flow. The check can mostly improve the verification efficiency and ensure the project's dependability.Finally, the thesis simply summarizes some experience in the verification. I hope these experience can help the beginners who want to do verification.
