The dissertation is aimed at the theory and practical application of photoconductive semiconductor switches (PCSS), which is the kernel of UWB (Ultra-wideband) photoconductive pulse source. The deferent electric pulse in linear operational mode of PCSS is simulated. The linear operational mode of PCSS is studied and the nonlinear operational mode of PCSS is analyzed. The results of experiment are analyzed. The slot antenna used in experiment is simulated calculated. In chapter 1, the current states of study of experimentation, theory and applications are introduced. At the same time, the main work and contribution is generalized. In chapter 2, the manufacture of PCSS and measure of contact resistance are introduced. The choice of materials, the design of machine structure, the practical flow and insulated measure are expatiated. In chapter 3, after introduce of rule of absorbing light of semiconductor material, the instant respond model in linear mode is established by study of some important recombination mechanisms and actions of excursion and diffuse, which have influence on photoconduction response of PCSS and the linear mode of PCSS is calculated. The nonlinear operational mode is a typical phenomenon which is caused by light. The mathematic description of nonlinear operational mode is listed. In chapter 4, the slot antenna used in experiment is simulated calculated. Meanwhile the Fermi model under big injecting instance and the problem of saturate light energy of linear operational mode are introduced. Then the condition of threshold value of nonlinear is studied. The critical state between linear and nonlinear is analyzed. In chapter 5, the summary of the whole dissertation is given and the future development is prospected.
