Beam Experiments Of The Bes Iii Time Of Flight Detector And Its Quality Testing Database Set Up

BEPCII is a high luminosity, multi-bunch collider, which is designed for the order to improve the accelerator's luminosity and increase its precision. Comparable with BEPCII, BESIII is a high quality detector with the modern detector technology. Time of Flight (TOF) detector is a sub detector of BESIII. The physics target of TOF is to identify particles and its capability is determined by the flight time difference of particles of different types, and by the time resolution of TOF.Beam test of TOF model had been done on the line accelerator of BEPCII. In the experiment, TOF model was made up of a plastic scintillator (wrapped with some reflective materials) and two PMT coupling on the both end of the scintillator. By the 1:1 beam test, some characteristics of TOF model were test, including time resolution, attenuation length and the effective speed of light, which gave the reference to the selection of reflective material of BESIII TOF. The scintillator was chosen EJ200 .The PMT was R5924 made by HAMAMATSU. For the reflective materials, two types were chosen, one of whose was specular materials: Al film, ESR and the other was diffusion ones: Tyvek, Teflon and Millipore.The beam test shows: Al film can give the best time resolution of 95.6±2ps approaching the target of BESIII; ESR wrapping can give the biggest amplitude and longest attenuation length; the effective speed of light in the scintillator bar with different reflective materials is same in the range of error.Before the installation, each of the components of BESIII TOF must be checked. So there will be lots of data. In order to effectually manage the data and give the original data to the project of BESIII TOF and monitor, a database for TOF quality checking was made using Apache+PHP+Mysql. This database has data selecting, inserting and checking functions. And it had been validated useful.
