Deformation monitoring is an important means in monitoring safety for the deformation body, which can acquire the information of dynamic displacement by surveying it, then analyse and predict the security of it. With further improving and continuous research of GPS, it became a trend of acquiring the deformation measurement data by GPS positioning. GPS monitoring can reduce the field works and improve work efficiency greatly, then lead to the direct economic benefit. However, the prerequisite should insure the stability of the base point and select the appropriate methods to process the data. Only on the base of acquiring the deformation displacement in line with the actual fact, it can make the correct estimation about the operation condition. So, the research for stability of deformation monitoring base and suppressing noise of the data can be of theory and real significance.In this paper we mainly study the base stability analysis of GPS deformation monitoring and suppressing the surveying data noise by adaptive Kalman filtering. Firstly we analyse the common methods about the data processing of GPS deformation monitoring, and point out the problems for the existing research, then combining with the specific examples in Ermei, make the specific analysis, especially talk about the variance-compensating adaptive Kalman filtering.With the shortage of the common Kalman filtering, the paper mainly summarizes the basic thought of the variance-compensating adaptive Kalman filtering, and derives the relative fomula.Finally, combining with the real data of landslide GPS monitoring in Three Gorges, the paper discusses three methods of data processing, such as typical method of least square, common Kalman filtering,and variance-compensating adaptive Kalman filtering, also comparing the results, the marked effect is made by the third method------variance-compensating adaptive Kalman filtering,.
