Based On The Establishment Of A Wide Range Of Digital Terrain Model,

With the development of computer and technology of Geographic Information System Digital Terrain Data as a basic data of Geographic Information System plays more and more of important role in the Military geography area. It has numerous applying foreground and potential.In this paper the author discusses the theories and methods on making high quality DEM and TIN based on terrain feature from digital contour line. Firstly the conception expression methods and development situation of Digital Terrain Model are introduced the study contents and the study emphases are put forward accordingly. On the basis of summarizing previous work the author rapidly constructs TIN using Convex Shell Technology and insert all characteristric sides.the author also makes the study and experiment on distilling terrain line by dealing with flat triangle. In order to improving modeling efficiency and model fidelity the author studies the modeling methods and improving arithmetic on double liner interpolation of TIN, constructing DEM considering limitation of terrain character. The author introduces the modth of constructing and storaging of TIN of lager scale terrain.Based on the theory and methods discussed in the paper The author has accomplished the DEM&TIN module based on computer using Visual C++6.0 and at last the paper summarizes research productions and some development direction.
