The author demonstrates that how to prospect for non-ferrous metals in Xiangnan area, through researching regional metallogenesis on the background of the regional ore-forming condition, based on the characteristics of known ore-deposits, and combined with the previous exploring experience. 3 metallogenic provinces of exploration prospecting are predicted, and 9 sub-exploration zones are necessary for engineering confirmation, according to the objective conditions of geological metallogenesis.1. The exploration in this area must be kept to the following principles: ①Taking the geological evolution of 2 techonomagmatic faults(NE---Nangshan—Chenzhou—Lingxian,NW---Fankou--Shuikousha ng) for historic background; ② Figuring the overburden structure(Neiyang--Lingwu) and rock contacts(esp. overburden/ basement) on the host structure; ③ Reckoning the multi-epoch superimposed activity of ore-beraring granite and 2 large-scale therm dynamical activities in high-hot field; ④ Clinging changes of the lito-facies and palaeogeography, process of the ore-forming to the support. So as to make great breakthrough of exploration in the massive sulfide polymetallic deposit formed by volcanic effusion deposition, granitic-magma hydrothermal deposit controlled by structure node, and hydrothermal Cu Au deposit formed by deep-seated ore-bearing magma in shallow part of the earth surface.2. It is first to point out that the exploration of layer-controlled deposit(VMS. SEDEX) formed by sub-marine volcano spout deposition must be hopeful, beside the exploration of large—superlarge scale granitic-magma minerial deposit. Meanwhile , enough attention should be paid to these deposits controlled by structure node, syn-sedimentary fault, denudational fault, and magma contact(3-bed structure).3. Discussion and analysis of 3-main mineralization in Xiangnan had been made. These main metallogenesis are: ①Granitic mineralization withformation of large scale ore-deposit;? Multi-epoch superimposing mineralization; (3) Structure ore-controlling mineralization.4. The mineral resources exploration potential are estimated and of each sub-exploration zones are predicted, through the systemic research of regional ore-forming condition and mineralization, based on the collection and analysis of the experienced materials in 9 zones. The total resources may be obtained: Pb+Zn—-10*106t; Cu—-2.4*106t;Sn—2.25*106t;Ag—-1350t; Au—-200t.
