Total Station Measurement Test Method

When the science and technology of surveying and mapping develops, instrument of surveying and mapping is made from the low to the high, and it also develops the science and technology of surveying and mapping. The development of instrument can make the people of surveying and mapping ease the intensity of work, improve the efficiency of work, so the importance of the instrument is obvious for the people of surveying and mapping. The calibration of instrument is very important for the quality of the project before we make use of the instrument.Firstly, the paper introduces the principle of surveying for total station instrument and the future which it is be used to the surveying and mapping, and also introduce the normal way to check the total station instrument. We find that there are many demerits in the current verification regulation of total station instrument and need we perfect it farther, via researching the total station instrument farther.This paper mostly researches the checking way of total station instrument and makes a series of experimentations. The central studied content is: the studying for the C and R in the distance measurement, the study for standard deviation of distance measurement of the total station instrument, the study and calculation of illustration for the formula of periodic error of the total station instrument, the checking of horizontal angle. The thinking of calculating the standard deviation for horizontal direction in a observation, The calculation of illustration and studying of calculating the standard deviation for vertical direction in a observation.Via a series of experimentations for the total station instrument, this paper finds the disadvantage of checking of total station instrument, and makes studying and discussing for the result of the experimentations, and finds its disadvantages and feasibility.
