The PGE consist of Ru,Rh,Pd,Os,Ir and Pt. The usage of PGE in industry increase rapidly recently because of their excellent nature of physics and chemistry. So It is very important to study how a PGE deposit formed. Yantonglazi-Toulongshan PGE deposit is located in later paleozoic Pt,Pd,Au and Cu mineralized belt, Yianji , Jilin province. Through the integrated study on petrology, mineralogy and economic geology, the main achievements of this thesis made as following: 1. The gabrro bearing ore mainly consist of grossular and hedenbergite. It formed by alteration of post-magmatic hydrothermal fluid in Yantonglazi area. 2. Three stage of mineralization are recognized in Yantonglazi. they are:(1) the crystallized stage, the mineral assemblage of this stage is chalcopyrite + pyrrhotite + pyrite; (2) hydrothermal alteration stage, the mineral assemblage is chalcopyrite + pyrite + pyrrhotite + sperrylite(?);(3) oxidation stage, the mineral assemblage is magnetite. 3. In Yantonglazi mining area, the content of PGE is high in ore (Pt in ore up to 7.45×10-6), the content of Ru, Pd, Rh in sulfide of crystallized stage is high, but the Pt content in sulfide is lower. It inferred that there are Platinum Group Minerals in crystallized stage. 4. The content of PGE is less in sulfide of hydrothermal alteration stage, there may be PGM in this stage. There are no obvious changes of PGE in ore in oxiation stage. 5. Most of the gabrros occupied the typical magmatic crystal structure. Part of them are the typical of cumulate structure. Gabbros are composed of hyalosiderite, augite, common hornblende and bytownite. Accessory minerals include Fe-spinel,apatite et al. metallic mineral assemblage is pyrite + pyrrhotite + chalcopyrite + ilmenite + magnetite. 6. The setting conditions of mafic intrusive rocks: T>550℃, and P=1.5~2.5 Kb in Toulongshan; The setting condition of mafic intrusive rocks: T= 750-900℃in Yantonglanzi.
