Neutron Moderator Method To Measure The Mixing Of Soil Moisture Content

Neutron moderation method that is applicable to measure the gravity ratio of the water to mixed soil is a new method. The merits of the method are facility and high efficiency. This paper introduced the principle and method that measure the moisture content with asphalt content and soil moisture content gauge. We explored how and in which condition to calibrate mixed soil on this paper. According to the calibration, we can draw the moisture content of mixed soil. Under the same weight and full of the iron box with mixed soil, the average moisture content X% was determined by the drying method. The neutron count rate Y was detected with asphalt content and soil moisture content gauge. Y and X are satisfied with the relation of parabolic curves Y = A + B1*X + B2*X^2。 Within the error, the calculation Y1 and experimental value Y2 are satisfied very well.
