City Resources And Environment Information Systems Research And Application - For Example, Zhangjiajie City

The deepening of reform and opening and the construction of economy on a large scale in our country has greatly hastened the process of urbanization, but a series of resource and environmental problems brought by urbanization have held back the development of social economy of cities and regions. Thus it is very significant to constituting the guideline and policy of the sustainable development and the exploitation of resources and environmental treatment of the city to timely control the situation and rule of resource and environment of city. RS and GIS, for its particular superiority and potentiality, offer a new thought and method for the assistant decision-making on urban resources and environment.The emphasis was put on how to apply GIS technology to the estimate of resoure and environment of city and to forecasting urban spatial expansion in this paper. Firstly, the situation of resources and environment in ZhangJiajie was studied, and then having taking the development of urban social economy into account a mathematical model was established for the given area by means of qualitative and quantitative analysis of the factors which played a part in urban spatial expansion. Based on the research done before the urban resources and enviroment information system of ZhangJiajie was developed with advanced tool. The following achievements have been made by studying information from the city:Firstly, the definition of GIS and its applications were introduced, then the data sources were specified.Having been considering the background of resources , the main work of research and technical reasons were brought forth. Secondly, referring to the remote sensing interpreted map of ZhangJiejie city and its vicinages the geological background of the area was concretely studied. Thirdly, based on GIS technology, the decision-making process was discussed from qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis metasynthetic multi-aims of urban spatial expansion, so the decision-making model group was built to offer suggestions for urban land-use planning, whereafter the traffic situation of ZhangJiajiebeing particularly analysed, the mathematical model of urban spatial expansion was reasonably brought forward and realized. At the same time the driving factors in urban expansion were discussed, so it helps to optimize the uses of urban resources and to keep up the sustainable development of the city. Lastly, abiding by the two rules of code and data being separate and also spatial data and attribute data being separate, making use of objected-oriented method, the author developed and realized the urban resouses and environment information system based on GIS with the COM and mixed programming technologies.
